Luscious Jackson formed in 1991 consisting of Jill Cunniff, Gabby Glaser, Vivian Trimble and Kate Schellenbach, at first there were only Jill and Gabby, Vivian and Kate joined later. They sent their demo tape to Mike D (one of the owners of Grand Royal Records) and he signed them. They released three albums before Vivian Trimble left the band in 1998 due to constant touring, and three of them released one album before breaking up in 2000. In 2011 they reunited releasing 2 albums. The band name was inspired by basketball player Lucious Jackson.
Jill Cunniff was born on August 27 in 1966. She graduated from University of California Bekerley, where she studied visual art. She formed Luscious Jackson (bassist, singer), Kostars, Cooler Kids and released solo album called "City Beach" in 2007. Jill is a songwriter, plays bass and also sings.
Gabby Glaser was born on December 21 in 1966.She attended City College in New York. She plays guitar, is a singer and songwriter. She formed Luscious Jackson (guitarist, singer) In 2007 she released her solo album called "Gimme Splash"
Kate Schellenback was born on January 5 in 1966. Kate graduated from Hunter College, where she studied Studio Art. She is the member of Luscious Jackson (drummer). For a short period of time she was the drummer for Lunachicks, she was the founding member of Beastie Boys and During her relationship with Josephine Wiggs they formed short-term band Ladies Who Lunch and worked on Kostars album. they were mentioned in The Advocate.
Vivian Trimble was born on May 24 in 1963 to a pianist mother and an opera singer father. She attended Oberlin College, where she studied Art. She was the member of Luscious Jackson (Keyboardist, she left in 1998). She formed Kostars with Jill Cunniff in 1995 and released an album in 1996. in 1998 Vivian and Josephine Wiggs formed Dusty Trails and released one album together in 2000.
